Improving Transportation System Operations and Performance
Dr. Ramadan is a seasoned Transportation Engineer, Researcher, and Project Manager specialized in transportation systems planning, design, analysis, operations, and management. His thrust areas include traffic simulation; transportation performance management; Mobility as a Service (MaaS); work zone mobility; highway safety; transportation data analytics; GIS applications for transportation; and sustainable Infrastructure.
Dr. Ramadan is nationally prominent and recognized through published technical work and conference presentations. He is highly visible through active participation in professional organizations. His qualifications include Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with concentration in Transportation Engineering, registered Professional Engineer (PE) with current NCEES Record, certified Envision® Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), and certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®.
Currently, Dr. Ramadan serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the UAB Transportation Engineering and Development Laboratory, where he conducts applied-research serving the national need for Reliable, Efficient, Sustainable, and Resilient Transportation Systems. Specifically, he is employing his skills and expertise in transportation performance management and traffic simulation modelling to improve the reliability and efficiency of passenger travel and freight movement on the national highway system. In addition, Dr. Ramadan’s research supports the national strategic need for targeted investments aiming to improve the transportation experience of all travelers.
